Vision: To have a holistic approach to improve the welfare of youth especially orphans, vulnerable children and the underprivileged in Uganda. Mission: To empower the youth, women and the underprivileged people through community sensitizations on human rights, gender relations, Health and sanitation, awareness on education policies and diversification. Our Goal: Giving Children Hope Initiative’s main responsibility is to ensure that the social and economic factors affecting youth in communities do not undermine their lives ahead. Core Values Child centeredness: GCHI is a child centered organization and we promote the implementation and operationalization of the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Children (UNCRC 1989). We work for the best interest of the child, promote participation, child survival and development. Promote Empowerment: We stand in solidarity with poor and marginalized people, and support their efforts to take control of their own lives and fulfil their rights, responsibilities and aspirations. We ensure that key participants representing affected people are involved in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of our programmes Work in partnership with others: We work with others to maximise the impact of our programs, building alliances and partnerships with those who offer complementary approaches, are able to adopt effective programming approaches on a larger scale, and/or who have responsibility to fulfil rights and alleviate poverty through policy change and enforcement. We for example work closely with Local Governments in the Districts of operation and also locally based CBOs. Ensure Accountability and Promote Responsibility: We seek ways to be held accountable to poor and marginalized people whose rights are denied. We identify those with an obligation toward poor and marginalized people, and support and encourage their efforts to fulfil their responsibilities.
